A Regency Property was left to the town in 1904 and was used daily for various events including Adult Education classes. The friends of Church /Kennaway House faced a £1m restoration. The town was delighted that they were granted Heritage Lottery Funding towards the restoration. The £150,000 which was needed has mainly been raised but donations are still needed to find the outstanding amount.

Sidmouth in Bloom added a little colour to the 2006 and2007 fundraising by supplying planters and plants .

In 2008 and the redevelopment started.

There is also a new name

Kennaway House

There hadn't been links to the Church for a long time so it was time for a new name. The Building which was once home to Sidmouth's first MP, Sir John Kennaway will in future be known as Kennaway House; funraising still continues.
